Leaf Blowers-A Preview
A Leaf blower is a gardening tool invented by Don Quinto in the late 1950s. It propels air out of a nozzle to clear debris in the gardens and lawns like leaves. Leaf Blowers are powered by a two- stroke engine or an electric motor. Four-stroke engines are recently used to cope with the problems of air pollution. Leaf Blowers are typically hand held units for daily use. Over the ages, now it has become one of the unavoidable tools in house-keeping purposes. A leaf blower can also be a backpack mounted unit with a handheld wand. The latter is more ergonomic for prolonged use.
Leaf blower was originally introduced in the United States as part of an agricultural chemical sprayer. Shortly, the manufacturing companies researched that consumers were removing the chemical dispensing parts from the device, leaving only the blower behind. Then the idea of converting this instrument into a common garden and lawn maintenance tool came to the manufacturers. Drought conditions in California facilitated the acceptance of the leaf blower as the use of water for many garden clean-ups were prohibited strictly. All these circumstances, have led a massive growth in the sales of Leaf Blowers and it became a ubiquitous garden maintenance tool.
